RSPCA Queensland is seeking a proactive and strategic Facilities and Projects Manager to lead the operational oversight and continuous improvement of our built environment across multiple sites. In this hands-on leadership role, you will ensure our facilities are safe, compliant and support best-practice animal care while also planning and delivering minor to mid-scale infrastructure projects across the state.

About the Role
As our Facilities and Projects Manager, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day facility operations and lead the planning, budgeting and execution of infrastructure projects including refurbishments, new builds and upgrades. You will collaborate across departments to ensure our facilities meet operational needs while aligning with long-term strategic development plans.
Key areas you will contribute
You’ll provide leadership across facilities and projects, balancing strategic direction with operational delivery.
You will:
- Manage facility operations across multiple sites to ensure safety, compliance, and functionality
- Deliver scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and condition-based asset interventions
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of construction and capital works projects
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and quality outcomes
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and planning regulations
- Engage and manage consultants, contractors, and service providers
- Conduct property risk assessments and oversee emergency planning
- Support long-term property strategy, planning and capital forecasting
- Maintain an asset register and contribute to sustainability and energy efficiency goals
- Supervise and mentor facilities staff and contribute to a safe, positive team culture
About You
You’ll be an experienced and solutions-focused facilities professional with:
- Qualifications in Facilities Management, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing facilities operations and infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of WHS, building compliance and risk management
- Skilled in budgeting, contractor management, and project scheduling
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working across operational or multi-site environments
- A collaborative approach and ability to lead through change
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and alignment to RSPCA Qld’s mission

Work Environment
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring frequent site visits across RSPCA Qld’s metropolitan, regional and remote locations. You will operate in a variety of environments including active animal shelters and live construction sites. The role demands situational awareness, adaptability, and strong collaboration with operational, trade and executive teams.
